SLIM™ - Superior Label Information Manager |

The Superior Technologies "SLIM™" (Superior Label Information Manager) package was designed to
collect data and print corresponding labels in a variety of packaging environments. The system
architecture incorporates packaging station(s) located in various locations about the facility that can
interface to a SLIM™ Server Workstation for further data storage and processing. The SLIM™ system
manages uploads of PLU Codes, Customer Info, User Info (for login & security) and Print Label
formats.
Key features include:
-SLIM™ supports 2 types of customers, "Direct" and "Prepared For" (optional) for reporting
purposes.
-920i Controllers can run stand-alone (& accumulate transactions) and will upload
transactions back to the PC Workstation when requested or on demand.
-Label designs are generated by the off-the-shelf Windows software, imported into SLIM, and
uploaded into the 920i Controller. Each Label Design has up to 35 fields that can be
substituted into a label print-out (such as Company Name, Customer address, Net Weights,
PLU Description, Time, Date, etc.). Labels can also support bar coded data and graphics.
-Reports are all done on the SLIM Server Workstation. Customized reports are available.
-Currently up to ten (10) 920i Controllers are supported
-PC Workstation can communicate wirelessly to the 920i Controller units if required.
-SLIM utilizes "smart" Data uploads to each 920i Controller. By attaching a "920i Station ID"
to each PLU, only the necessary data gets uploaded to the selected 920i station. For
example, if only certain PLU's are relevant to the "Boning Area" they will not appear on the
920i station in the "Packaging Room" (to prevent mislabelling).
-920i label transactions records can also attach a "Lot Number" to each PLU transactions
(can be used for HACCP purposes). This can be reported on by the SLIM system.
-A "Skid Number" is also stored with the transactions for possible shipment reports.
-Currently, each 920i can support 300 PLU's, 15 label formats and 900 transactions (subject
to change).
